Hello, my name is Ada.
My story is one of self-discovery and an unwavering pursuit of happiness.
Born in Chicago and raised in Jeju, South Korea, I have traversed a winding path that has taken me from the serene beaches of Jeju Island to the bustling streets of Seoul, back to my birthplace in Chicago, and eventually to the vibrant city of New York.
I earned a PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Northwestern University. However, my academic focus diverged from the traditional scope of my degree; instead, I delved into the fascinating realm of human behaviors within complex networks. My curiosity about how people make decisions and act based on their choices became the cornerstone of my thesis project, which ultimately paved the way for my career in data science.
Today, I wear many hats. I am a data scientist, a researcher, a wife, and a mother, with each role presenting its own unique set of challenges and rewards. My journey stands as a testament to the power of perseverance and the critical importance of balancing professional ambitions with personal fulfillment.
